Mesothelioma
is a rare kind of cancer, which usually arises from
the cells lining the sacs of the pleura (chest) or
from the abdomen. Chest mesothelioma is the most ordinary
form, frequently presenting with symptoms in the pleural
area. Peritoneal mesothelioma is actually less common
and can affect the true organs in the abdomen area.
However, its symptoms are associated to body area
that is abdominal swelling, sickness, bowel obstruction
and vomiting. The most uncommon kind of mesothelioma
is pericardial mesothelioma that comprises the sac
around the heart.

There are two chief kinds of mesothelioma, epithelial
and sarcomatoid.
Actually, both these kinds can be prevented sometimes.
Sarcomatoid type is rare and occurs only in about
15% of cases; it signifies a poorer prognosis. In
very uncommon cases, mesothelioma could come up from
benign and non-malignant cells. This purported benign
mesothelioma could be treated surgically.
Symptoms of mesothelioma
Any early symptoms
of mesothelioma are usually not
particular and would also lead to a delay in
diagnosis. At times similar to viral pneumonia,
chest mesothelioma patients might present with
squatness of breath, chest pain or determined
cough; in fact some patients would not show
any symptoms at all. The less common symptoms
of pleural mesothelioma comprise fever, sweating
in night and sudden loss of weight. Symptoms
of peritoneal mesothelioma might also comprise
swelling or pain in the abdomen because to a
build-up of fluid, sickness, bowel obstruction,
feet swelling, or anemia. On the other hand,
local attack by the cancer could result in alteration
of voice, loss of working of the diaphragm,
and symptoms particular to the area and connection
of nearby structures.
